PhotoCraft tools: the complete list

Every PhotoCraft tool in v0.8.2: all 67, grouped as on the toolbar, with each one's shortcut key, what it does, when it arrived and which are still limited.

Unofficial community guideUpdated Oct 13, 2026

PhotoCraft v0.8.2 has 67 tools, arranged as in Photoshop's toolbar on 21 toolbar buttons. Twelve of them are new in v0.8.2: Artboard, Perspective Crop, Frame, Color Sampler, Color Replacement, Freeform Pen, Curvature Pen, Add Anchor Point, Delete Anchor Point, Convert Point, and Horizontal and Vertical Type Mask. Compared with the tools in Photoshop's default shortcut set, the one still missing is the Art History Brush, and a handful of the tools that exist are marked below as limited. The same toolbar is in the desktop app from the download page and in the online editor.

The sections group the toolbar's buttons by job, roughly from top to bottom, and each table lists a button's tools in the order of its flyout. Right-click a toolbar button, or press and hold it, to open its flyout. Edit › Toolbar… hides tools you don't use.

How to read the tables

  • Key is the tool's default shortcut and its place in that key's cycle. Since v0.8.2, Shift+letter steps through the cycle and the plain letter picks the group's current tool, as in Photoshop. "None" means the tool has no key and is picked from its flyout. The keyboard shortcuts cheat sheet has the details.
  • Shares a button with names the other tools in the same flyout.
  • Added is the first release whose toolbar had the tool, checked against the toolbar definition at each release tag. v0.1.0 was the first public release.
  • Limited marks tools the upstream docs or scorecard list as partial, or whose source notes a gap against Photoshop.

Photoshop tools PhotoCraft doesn't have yet

Upstream measures the toolbar against the tools in Photoshop 2026's default shortcut set, plus Remove, Triangle and Curvature Pen, which makes 68. Of those, PhotoCraft v0.8.2 lacks only the Art History Brush. The upstream gap list also names work that sits around the tools rather than in the toolbar:

  • Generative AI: the Remove tool has no generative mode, and AI and generative features as a whole are on the gap list.
  • Workspaces: Select and Mask and Content-Aware Fill open as dialogs rather than full Photoshop-style workspaces.
  • Type on a path isn't supported yet.
  • Pen constraints: Shift doesn't yet keep Pen segments at 45°.

Most tool keys work as in Photoshop. For every key, including the held Space, zoom and erase keys, see the keyboard shortcuts cheat sheet. For which files the tools can work on, see file formats. To try the tools without installing anything, open the online editor, or get the desktop app from the download page.
